American Animal Hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic technology, which we can utilize when a physical exam is insufficient to fully evaluate your pet’s health. Our team is dedicated to understanding and educating you about your pet’s condition, and detecting underlying problems sooner so they can be treated effectively. Veterinary diagnostics we use to provide the most comprehensive care possible include in-house laboratory testing, digital radiography, and ultrasound.

Why Lab Testing Is Important
Lab testing can provide us with information about a specific issue, but it can also give us a more thorough understanding of your pet’s overall health. We recommend comprehensive testing to see the bigger picture and evaluate the blood and major organ systems, but we can also offer tests to check for specific problems, such as parasites, infections, and diseases. Our in-house laboratory can help us rule out other issues and zero in on a possible treatment solution.
Furthermore, if your pet sees us with an urgent illness, we can run tests in-house with a quick turnaround time so we can proceed with treatment as soon as possible.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging gives us the ability to view your pet’s internal organ functioning in real time. With it we can see the shape, size, and texture of the major organs. This non-invasive diagnostic tool is ideal for diagnosing and monitoring tumors, cysts, pregnancies, and other conditions related to the abdominal organs.
Digital Radiography
Radiographs, or X-rays, give our team a visual of your pet’s musculoskeletal system, and their heart and lungs. Our digital X-ray technology quickly produces crisp, high-contrast images of the bones, joints, heart, and lungs, and helps us more accurately diagnose bone fractures, heart and lung abnormalities, arthritis, hip dysplasia, and other problems.
The reception staff are very pleasant and the facility is one of the most impressive I've visited. Dr. Burr is thorough and explained options in a manner I could understand. She also provided information to allow me to research further at my leisure. I traveled from Lincoln and the location is easy to get to so I plan to make the trip the next time either of my pups need a visit!!
